Sports, Olympics, etc
Bob Costas is an idiot.
Heck, most of NBC are idiots.
Bode Miller, is, in fact, an idiot as well. But at least he’s honest and entertaining.
In spite of all this, the Olympics were somewhat enjoyable.
Compass
I’m finally starting to feel like I belong in my job. Getting a grasp on what it means, and how to really own it.
That being said, we’re beginning to feel the nudges of the ‘next thing’… the curse of the church planting bug, is that the longer we’re at Compass, the more we itch to do it all over again. We’re in the very early (VERY early) stages of discovering where the next place will be and with whom. Recommendations of really sweet places to plant a church are always welcome. 
Poker
I’m within $40 of breaking even in money play. I don’t play for money much, but considering the dollar amount I’ve spent, being that close to even feels really good.
Unrelated to the game other than the cool factor, I am now proficient at the “chip shuffling”… as long as the stack is 5 or fewer per side. Any more than that and I just make a mess.
Did well at the last home game, and am excited to host another. Visit the poker blog for details.
Also looking at hosting some “beginners nights”… to get some more players for the home game. I know plenty of folks who want to play, but I don’t want to spend tournament time, when guys are paying to play, to teach or manage the game, we like the tourneys to run smooth. So it might be fun to do a night where we just teach the game, and get some folks comfy with it before they come buy in to the monthly game. Anyone interested?
Other
We finally got the taxes filed. It’s quite handy to have that done. The self-employment income from side work was quite a hassle… but fortunately, we had done some organization that made it a shorter process than it could have been.

we haven’t set an official release date yet, but the master is complete, and the packaging is being completed as we speak. i’ve been dodging the process of completing this project for a long time. it feels great to have it done. we’ll be celebrating the release of this project at a special release party show, with a full band, sometime in the next 4 weeks.
