when you can’t make a decent living in one field, you start looking for a large pile of small things to do in order to make ends meet. the result is something of an occupational hodge-podge, and a severe inability to focus on much of anything. the positive, though, is that you’re not bored. unless it’s a day like today, where nothing seems to be going on at all.
as of today, my current list of occupations includes (but is not limited to): freelance writer, vinyl fence salesman, web designer, worship-leader-for-hire, amateur photographer, part-time computer skills instructor.
starting next week, i’ll be wandering the friendly confines of coors field approaching unsuspecting fans and taking their picture for the ‘free gallery’ where they’ll be accosted with multiple advertisements when they finally find their photo in the gallery. the bright side is that i’m getting paid to wander around a major league baseball park for the remainder of the team’s home games taking pictures.
starting the week after that, i’ll be teaching some computer classes at a local adult-education training center. i’m sure my patience will have to be in full force, based on the level of classes i’ll be teaching (ie, if you’ve never touched a PC, this class is for you), but the bright side to this one is that it pays pretty well for relatively few hours of work.
there are a couple potential large projects ahead that could be pretty fun. we’ll see how that goes. i’m only cautiously optimistic.
enough of that stuff.
denver is awful fun right about now. it’s been kinda hot, which i could do without, but the late-summer thunderstorms have been simply magnificent. i’m ready to experience the fall season. broncos season is getting underway, which is just fun. there’s so much gratuitous media coverage, which makes for some fun football overload.
mostly, i’m just blogging so that it doesn’t look like it’s so many weeks between posts.
